About Robert L. Gigliotti
Who I Am
For more than three decades, I’ve dedicated myself to family law and civil litigation across California — helping families navigate some of the most emotionally charged and life-altering decisions they may ever face. Since my admission to the California Bar in 1991, I’ve served as a trial attorney representing clients in matters involving custody, visitation, move-aways, support, domestic violence, and complex family-law issues.
My foundation in the field began with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Loyola Marymount University in 1986, where I was honored to receive the Lewis A. Kingsley Scholarship. While working full-time, I attended evening and summer classes at the University of La Verne College of Law, earning my Juris Doctor degree in 1990. I bring more than 35 years of hands-on experience to every case and every family I’ve had the privilege to serve.
What I Do
My practice focuses on ensuring that individuals and families are able to understand their rights, make informed decisions, and navigate difficult transitions with dignity and clarity. Over the span of my career, I have represented clients throughout the state of California on issues involving custody, visitation, relocation, support, restraining orders, guardianship, and related civil litigation.
In each matter, my goal has remained consistent: to provide steady guidance, thoughtful advocacy, and respect for the emotional complexities that shape family dynamics.
My Vision for Briefly GiGliotti
Separate and apart from my law practice, I founded @BrieflyGigliotti as an independent project — a creative and educational platform that exists outside the scope of legal representation.
This space allows me to share insights from decades of family-law experience through a different lens: storytelling. Through narrative episodes, illustrations, real-life inspired case journeys, and accessible educational materials, aims to give the public a clearer understanding of custody disputes, co-parenting challenges, relocation cases, safety planning, and the legal system’s impact on children and families.
